RT-VSM Tool
RT-VSM Tool is a real time voltage stability monitoring software tool developed at SGDRIL, WSU. It can run online and monitor the following key metrics in real time –
- Wide area system voltage stability (using a unique ‘non-iterative’ algorithm)
- Voltage magnitude & angle of all buses
- Real & reactive power consumption of all load buses
- Real and reactive power flow in all transmission lines
- Angular separation between all buses
These key metrics are displayed on the different visualization windows of the RT-VSM Tool in real time, and can give a clear indication of system stress to the power system operators in a control center.
